University Blacks, the most famous name in Amateur football, has momentum.

The Club will be looking to regain entry to the Premier Division of the VAFA in 2019, on the back of a strong 2018 season where the Seniors, Reserves and Phoenix all reached the finals of their respective competitions.

This season showcased the Blacks as a force to be reckoned with in the VAFA, carrying on from the 2014 season where all three Senior sides played in Grand Finals and the Seniors and Reserves took out premierships in VAFA Premier Division. This saw the Blacks win a Senior premership at the highest level of the VAFA for the first time since 1974.

After being relegated from a very closely-fought Premier Division in 2017, the club and players are hungrier than ever to get back to the top of VAFA football in 2019.
