University Blacks would like to warmly congratulate Cam Roberts, who recently stepped down after a long and successful stint as Senior coach at the Blacks, on being appointed as a Midfield Development Coach at Essendon.
Cam will be working predominately with the young players on the Essendon list and coach the AFL midfield players on VFL game days.
"All of Cam’s many friends at the Blacks are delighted that he has been given the opportunity to test himself at the AFL level and it is a great credit to him," University Blacks President Nick Carah said.
"The passion and dedication to his coaching and player development that he has clearly evidenced at the Blacks has forged a strong reputation and level of respect across the broader VAFA community and it is wonderful that this has been recognised via this appointment.
"Essendon are fortunate to have Cam on board and we have no doubt he will excel in this new challenge for him."
The Blacks wish Cam well in his new role.
