Dale Signs Off After Seven Seasons at Uni Blacks

University Blacks Football Club has announced that the 2026 season will be the final campaign for Senior Coach Dale, bringing to a close a significant chapter in the club's recent history.

After discussions with the club, Dale has advised that he will pursue a fresh opportunity and continue his senior coaching career elsewhere beyond the current season.

Since joining the Blacks in 2020, Dale has overseen one of the club's most important periods of growth and development. Navigating the challenges of the COVID-affected years, he guided the club back to Premier A football in 2022 and helped establish a strong foundation at the highest level of VAFA competition.

University Blacks President Pat Barry paid tribute to Dale's contribution and leadership over the past seven seasons.

“Dale has left a lasting impact on our football club,” Barry said.

“He guided the Blacks back to Premier A football and helped establish a strong foundation at the highest level of VAFA competition. We are enormously grateful for his leadership, commitment and contribution over the past seven seasons.”

Dale will take charge of the senior side for the final time this Saturday, providing players, members and supporters with an opportunity to celebrate and acknowledge his outstanding contribution to the club.

His influence has extended far beyond match day results, helping shape the club's culture, strengthen its football program and support the development of players both on and off the field.

The club has encouraged the Uni Blacks community to get behind the team this weekend and join in recognising Dale's commitment, leadership and passion.

University Blacks Football Club extends its sincere thanks to Dale and his family for everything they have given to the club and wishes them every success for the future.

Further information regarding the club's 2027 Senior Coaching position will be released in due course.

From everyone at Uni Blacks: Thank you, Dale. 💙🖤
