Season Launch Breakfast 2018

The annual Uni Blacks Season Launch Breakfast is fast-approaching.

This year’s event will be held at The Arts Centre from 7am (sharp) on Wednesday, 21st March.

A tremendous line-up of guest speakers will grace the microphone for what is sure to be an entertaining morning:

Neil Balme joined the Richmond football club ahead of its 2017 premiership campaign, taking charge of a struggling football department. The appointment sparked a resurgence at Punt Road, with the Tigers winning their first grand final in 37 years. No stranger to success, Neil won two flags as a Richmond player in the 1970s and held an administrative role at Geelong during its Grand Final victories in 2007, 2009 and 2011. It will be interesting to hear Neil’s take on the direction of football and whether the Tigers can go back-to-back in 2018.

Caroline Wilson has established a reputation as one of the most trusted sources for football news. An award-winning journalist who works across print, television and radio, Caro was the first woman to cover AFL on a full-time basis. She is a regular columnist with The Age and was, until recently, the newspaper’s chief football writer for 19 years. Caroline can also be heard on Radio 3AW program ‘Sports Day’ and seen on Channel Nine’s ‘Footy Classified’ throughout the football season. She never holds back and is sure to have some fascinating tales to share.

Peter Jackson was lured out of retirement to resurrect the Melbourne Football Club in 2013 as it underperformed on and off the field. Since arriving at the club, Peter has overseen the appointment of Paul Roos as senior coach and his successor Simon Goodwin. He’s managed to lead the Demons to profits each year as well as record membership numbers. Melbourne heads into the upcoming season as a good chance to play in September for the first time since 2006. Peter Jackson will no doubt have a fascinating take on the Dees and whether they can prove the doubters wrong.

Author, broadcaster and comedian Tony Wilson returns as Master of Ceremonies. A former Blacker himself, Tony never fails to impress with his well-researched interviews and engaging, laid-back delivery.

Don’t miss out on the most popular entertainment event on the Blacks football calendar and book your table of 10 as soon as possible. A great way to catch up with past and present teammates or introduce friends, family or colleagues to the club. Also an excellent corporate entertainment option.
