Under 19

Under 19s footy at the Blacks offers our younger players a fantastic footy experience on and off the field.

High quality coaching and excellent facilities are combined with a strong focus on building a supportive and engaging team dynamic.

This year the Under 19s will have a cracking group of coaches working as a team, providing the same level of support and leadership we have come to expect year to year with our Unders side.

Murray Schneider: 'Muzz' has an impressive TAC background with 6 years as a coach of the NSW Rams and many years as a specialist coach with the Eastern Ranges and Northern Knights. Murray has also coached Scoresby and Montrose U18 teams in the EFL Division 1 and played over 300 senior games. 

Cameron Wood: Cam joined the Blacks in 2022 as Head of Football, after an 88 game career in the AFL for Brisbane, Collingwood and Carlton. Cam will be hands on with the Under 19s at training and match day, which will be a super learning opportunity for our younger players.

Darren Crocker: A 165 game AFL Veteran with North Melbourne and a highly experienced coach at the highest level, Darren is currently leading the Kangaroos AFLW team and will be getting involved with the Blacks side, including the Under 19s, once the AFLW season winds up. 

Dale Bower: Dale is our Senior Coach who takes a keen interest in the future of the Club and will be around the group for the occasional training session.

This team approach provides a wonderful opportunity for our Under 19 players in 2024 to hear from a range of highly experienced football voices. 

Additionally, for students new to Melbourne or attending university, the Blacks provides the opportunity to meet fellow footy loving students and to rapidly feel at home in a positive and lively environment.

On field opportunities are mixed with a great social calendar, allowing our youngest players to feel welcomed and at home.
