Vote Count Results - Under 19s 2008

Bede Mahon impressively won the Under 19 Best & Fairest at last Monday’s vote count at the 'Home of the Blacks', whilst surrounded in the midst of a famous black mad Monday. After polling the maximum possible votes in 2 out of the 3 last rounds, Bede convincingly won ahead of Peter Sheppard who was leading the count the majority of the time. Bede also captained the Under 19's and showed great leadership skills on and off the field in conjunction with his consistent hard and skillful style of play. Bede won the Best & Fairest from only 11 matches, given the remaining matches he played at senior level. Well done Bede!

Runner-up, Peter Sheppard, was also instrumental in the team’s performance this season. Peter played in the ruck and rarely lost a hitout whilst taking contested mark, after mark, around the ground. If the big man can hit the gym, we might have a new recruit at senior level.

A big recognition also needs to go to the unknown wingman, Tyran Bell, who finished 3rd just behind Sheppard.
