Fit and firing for Christmas
Fit and firing for Christmas
22 December 2011
A picture perfect summer evening on the pristine Uni Main Oval was the setting for the final December training session.
Coach Kempton put the lads through a solid final session, which included the final pre-christmas fitness test - a particularly nasty push-up competition which was won by key defender Tom Howgate (see the bottom of this article for a full run-down and results of the fitness tests).
Training was followed by an outstanding BBQ which was expertly hosted and prepared by the famous Commadeur twins, who shook hands with everyone at least twice
As reported earlier, the December training has been tough going, but those players who made regular appearances at the sessions will head to the Christmas break in terrific condition.
Plenty of new faces have been seen down at training, which has added some real excitement to the players and coaching staff who are already eagerly anticipating season 2012. It is patently obvious that some of the new recruits will be making a huge impact to the Blacks side.
Training will recommence in late January - stay tuned to the website for further details as there will be some running sessions available in early January for those in town. There is also a Christmas training program which will be posted in a separate article.
From all at the University Blacks - have a happy and safe Christmas and look forward to seeing you next.
