Blacks win Jack Clancy/Bob Neil Cup
23 March 2011
The fourth exhibition match between the Melbourne University Blacks and the Adelaide University Blacks was played at Bulleen Park on Saturday afternoon in perfect conditions.
The Melbourne Uni Blacks had plenty of new faces, with a handful of u/19 players as well as some exciting new recruits given the opportunity to impress the senior coaches after excellent pre-seasons. In a hard fought match, the Melbourne Uni Blacks prevailed by 4 goals after leading all day. It was the first time the Melbourne Uni Blacks have won the Clancy/Neil Cup since the inception of the friendship between the two clubs.
After the match, the Adelaide Blacks joined us for a fantastic BBQ and plenty of refreshments in the sunny courtyard of our home away from home, the Clyde Hotel.
This week the Blacks hit the road and head north to Murchison for their annual practice match against the Old Xaverians.
