Blacks host Adelaide University

Last weekend saw the annual pre-season contest for the Bob Neil - Jack Clancy cup between the two Blacks, those of Adelaide and Melbourne universities. The game at Princes Park was affected by the unseasonal rain, but the weekend's celebrations were not. Adelaide won by nine points to take the cup home.

We were able to trial several quality young players in competition conditions, and all players benefited from the first serious hit out. Next year it is planned for us to visit Adelaide later in the practice match program, so both teams will have had more preparation and the contest can be even more intense. Thanks to Craig Brook, Nick Martin and many others for a mountain of work to ensure the weekend was a success.
