Blacks AFL Season Commencement Breakfast, Wed. March 24

A terrific panel of guest speakers has been assembled for the Blacks' inaugural AFL Season Commencement Breakfast at the Australian Club, 110 William St.

AFL heavyweight Adrian Anderson will reveal all about free agency, expansion clubs, new rules, and how a Camberwell Grammar boy ended up playing for OM's clubbies. Retired Richmond champion and AFLPA president Joel Bowden will give the story on the game's big developments from the players' viewpoint, and share with you the highlights of 14 years at Tigerland. And Chris Connolly, Football Manager at Melbourne FC, will bring to a crescendo the hype about the Cinderella club's expected rise from the ashes. Broadcaster and writer Tony Wilson will tie things together as MC, attempting to get a laugh or two without reference to his own career highlights at the Blacks, most of which involved inaccuracy in front of goal.

By the day before the first AFL game you and all your clients, colleagues and mates will be frantic for informed footy talk. That's why the smart move is to book now a table of 10, or register as an individual. The link takes you to the registration form. And in case you haven't noticed the cost of corporate entertainment lately, this is the best deal of the year to use as a way of entertaining clients without eating into their work day or your marketing budget. Talking of eating, we have settled for the traditional hot breakfast, fruit, toast and pastries etc, so your first pie and sauce of the season will have to wait for the following days at the footy.
