Melbourne University Blacks Football Club
The Uni Blacks, who play in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA), are based at the University of Melbourne, in Parkville, Victoria, Australia. The Blacks field senior, reserve, thirds and under 19 (premier division) sides.

After 7 years of outstanding service, the last 3 as senior coach, Michael Rizio has retired from coaching the Blacks. Michael was a very significant contributor to 4 premierships, and will be forever remembered for steering the Blacks back to A Grade after 27 years. His football knowledge, his dedication and loyalty, and his wisdom in consistently lifting the professionalism of the playing group without destroying the culture of fun and friendship at the Blacks were admired by all. Just as important, he is the type of man that we were always pleased to have representing our club.

The annual Blacks presentation night will be held on AFL Grand Final eve, Friday 26 September 2008, at 7 for 7:30pm. The venue is the magnificent Naval & Military Club at 27 Little Collins St Melbourne. All supporters of the club are welcome.

Uni Blacks players look after each other like no other. Marty Pask thoughtfully wore Glenn Coleman's Nana Judy brand T shirt on Channel 7's Olympic Sunrise program when interviewed after Leisel Jones' gold medal swim. Eight minutes of close ups on high rating national television watched by about 7 million people is worth around $1.35 million. All Marty asks in return is a big 2009 from Glenn and the occasional lace out pass.
Marty was so loyal to his team mate Glenn that he failed to mention what made the difference to Leisel - she wore the signed Uni Blacks jumper the blokes gave her under her swim suit.

Huw Lacey captained the Victorian VAFA Under 23 Team to an emphatic 70 point win against South Australia on Saturday.
Incredibly this is the fourth time Huw has represented Victoria in the AAFC Championship. He has also been selected twice in the U23 All-Australian Team, which included a tour of Ireland in 2005...
